The Bachelor of Islamic Studies program aims to give students a foundation in the intellectual study of Islam, including but not limited to, three lines of study that are available as options, Qur'anic studies, sexuality, gender and feminist studies in Islam and Environmental Studies in Islam. The program as a whole is geared towards an analysis of contemporary debates and issues relating to Muslims around the world. Students will also be trained to deal with the relationship of Islam with other religions through comparative courses in Christianity and Judaism. The essential purpose of the Bachelor of Islamic Studies by distance learning program is to allow an academic environment that fosters the training of professionals capable of providing students with the contemporary Islamic, social, technical and academic necessary to participate effectively in the community. It is a study focused on various branches of the Islamic order to pave them a way for practical applications of knowledge and the solution of current Islamic problems. It is also the aim of this program to prepare students with adequate Islamic knowledge to put into practice in day-to-day life, to present the correct image and to work for the good of the Muslim community and the world community at large. . The Bachelor of Islamic Studies is a university professional whose object of study is to provide the student with a comprehensive understanding of the Islamic faith according to the Qur'an and Sunna. A great deal of effort has been made to ensure the syllabus is academically well structured with a comprehensive syllabus covering all the important topics used by the classical texts such as aqeedah attahaweeyah, luma'atul 'i'tiqaad and Madaariy asSaalikeen.
